Being a more efficient coach, what does it mean?
Feb 13, 2020 Season 1 Episode 1
Marcus Walfridson

In this premier of the efficient coach podcast we focus on trying to solve the mystery of the word efficient. It’s a word that’s used frequently in society today, and also in coaching. What does it mean when we talk about becoming more efficient for us coaches?

Understanding this word is part of the foundation of this show, and after listening to this episode you will not only understand the word, but also why I decided to start this podcast.

Listen to parts of my story as I went from a semi-pro playing career to coaching grassroots and eventually ending up coaching in a Champions League quarter final. My experiences of burning out has led to me believing that all coaches should have access to quality personal development content. There’s a lot of great resources out there if you’re looking to improve your ‘technical’ coaching, but not much on how to deal with all the challenges you encounter outside training and how to combine everything with living a great life.

In this episode you will also hear an example of a youth coach who thought he was efficient, while in reality he was not. We also talk about what quality coaching is in the context of a team sport, and how becoming more efficient will help you save time in your coaching.
