Marcus Walfridson

This conversation with the Senior Director of Youth Development at the USL, Liam O’Connell is great for anyone who want to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of the US Soccer Development landscape.

Liam is doing some really great things over at the USL in order to help clubs develop better players. He has experience from doing it himself at Sporting KC and has implemented a lot of the same principles in the most exiting league in the US.

You will hear my take on the much debated pay-to-play debate (which is not the same as every one else’s…) and that Liam agrees with me.

If you are a youth coach in the US or someone who’s curious about how the system “over there” works, this episode will be a great listen for you
